Artist Zhang Jian works at his studio in Sanbao Village, Jingdezhen. Zhang is originally from Hunan Province. After graduating from the Beijing-based China Central Academy of Fine Arts with a degree in porcelain art, he settled in Jingdezhen, where he has specialized in an unusual pottery-firing technology that was first imported to China from Japan.
