China's first two Tabi Kaeru–themed post offices were unveiled earlier this week in Shanghai. Tabi Kaeru, or Travel Frog, is a popular Japanese mobile game. At the two post offices on 62 Lancun road and 105 Tianyaoqiao road, fans of the game can take photos with a large frog statue, buy Travel Frog-themed products including postcards, stamps, notebooks and commemorative envelops. Released by Hit-Point Co Ltd, the game has been extremely popular among young Chinese, drawing comparisons to the sensational Pokemon Go and the well-loved Tamagotchi from yesteryears. China Post's Shanghai branch said it recreated the scenes from the game on its products so that enthusiasts can find the creature on other items other than their mobile phones. A total of eight scenes were printed on postcards, with some depicting the frog writing, dining, reading books and checking out maps. [Photo by Gao Erqiang/chinadaily.com.cn]
