A monk and a visitor pray for blessings in the Lama Temple on a bright day in spring. Built in 1694, the Lama Temple (Yonghe Temple) is the largest and best-preserved lamasery in Beijing. It was once as the residence of the Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty before he ascended the throne. As a result, the complex is endowed with the architectural style of an imperial palace, making it distinctive from other temples. [Photo by Wang Xinning/China.org.cn]
