The Eight Tibetan Pagodas, in memory of King Gesar (1038-1119), stand in a line, 40 kilometers away from the Damshung county seat in north Tibet. The historic achievement of the legendary hero can be found in one of the most famous Tibetan epic poems named after him. Although, the area today is filled with the sound of rumbling engines, people can still imagine the neighing and clopping of horses in King Gesar's thrilling fights against his rivals in a bygone era.
