Argentine Schelotto named MVP by MLS

Argentine Guillermo Barros Schelotto has been named the most valuable player of the year, said Major League Soccer on Thursday.

The 35-year-old Columbus Crew midfielder scored seven goals in the 2008 regular season while leading the Crew into the MLS playoffs with a league best win-loss-draw record of 17-7-6 and 57 points.
