China ousted from women's under-20 World Cup despite win
Adjust font size:

The Chinese women's soccer team on Wednesday defeated the United States 2-0, but it wasn't good enough to send them to the second round of the Women's Under-20 World Cup.

Playing in the southern city of Temuco, some 400km to Santiago, the Chinese team dominated the pitch since the first minute.

Despite the victory, China were not able to qualify because France won 3-1 over Argentina, putting China out of the contention.

France progressed to the next round.

China finished with a goalless draw with Argentina and lost 2-0 to France in the previous two group matches.
