Rockets down Hawks through late rally

Yao Ming scored 24 points and grabbed a season-high 19 rebounds to help the Houston Rockets rally to a 92-84 over Atlanta on Tuesday.

The Rockets trailed 76-68, with 7:58 left to play after the Hawks' Josh Smith's 3-pointer, but Houston ended the game on a 24-8 run to post the victory.

Yao led the charge with 10 points in the run, sparking the surge with a hook shot and giving Houston the lead for good at 79-78 with a lay-up with 3:53 left in the game.

He put away the game on a hook shot with 1:55 remaining that made it 88-78.
