Spain's Lopez wins first leg of Morocco tennis tournament

Spaniard Marc Lopez won the first leg of the International Mohammed VI International Tennis Tournament on Sunday.

Lopez beat his compatriot Pepe Riba 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (9) to win the 35,000 dollars of the first leg of the tournament, which is held in Tangiers, northern Morocco.

Lopez upset Argentine Leandro Migani, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 before meeting Riba. His win of the first leg will also grant him 55 points in the world ranking.

Another three legs of the tournament are scheduled in the cities of Meknes (Feb. 21-Mar. 1), Rabat (Mar. 7-14) and Marrakech (Mar. 14-22).
