Philippines lead HK 2-1in Davis Cup

Philippines beat Hong Kong 3-0 in doubles to ensure a 2-1 lead in the Davis Cup tennis tournament Asia/ Oceania Zone Group II in Hong Kong on Saturday.

Treat Conrad S.Huey/Cecil V. Mamiit of Philippines totally controlled the match over host Hung Lap-Hei/Martin Christopher Sayer from the opening set and won the match with 7-5, 6-3 and 7-6 in less than two hours.

Early on Saturday, Mamiit rallied to a 3-0 win over Yu Hiu-Tung and help Philippines ensured a 2-1 lead.

Both sides will play another two single matches on Sunday. The winning team will be qualified for the second round in July to fight for promotion to Group I next year.
