Real Madrid beaten 4-0 in Champions League
Adjust font size:

Spanish soccer giant Real Madrid was eliminated on Tuesday from the European Champions League after being beaten 4-0 by England's Liverpool.

Headed by former Real coach Rafael Benitez, Liverpool scored the first goal through Fernando Torres at 15, before a double from Steven Gerrard on 27 and 47 minutes and a late Andrea Dossena goal secured a 5-0 aggregate win for the home team.

Real could have left the Anfield stadium with more goals conceded, but thanks to goal keeper Iker Casillas, it was not worse.

This is the fifth consecutive season that Real Madrid failed to classify to the second round of the tournament.
