Olympic silver winner Jiao Liuyang completed her triple victory after she set an Asian record in the 50 meters butterfly adding to her 100 and 200 meters titles at the Chinese national swimming championships on Saturday.

Jiao, from Guangzhou Army, clocked 26.04 seconds in the 50m butterfly final, shaving 0.04 seconds off the pervious mark she set during the semifinals on April 10. Zhou Yafei of Chinese Armyand Hong Wenwen of Hubei clocked 26.12 and 26.43 respectively.

Jiao, who earlier set an Asian record in the 100m butterfly, said: "I am happy that I've improved a lot in the sprint events. I hope it can make me faster in my favorite 200m event. "

The men's 50m freestyle national record went to Cai Li of Zhejiang by 22.19. The previous record of 22.24 was set on Friday by Shi Runqiang who came to third in 22.45.

Zhao Jing of Hubei met no challenges in the women's 200m backstroke, winning her third title at the meet in two minutes 07.87 seconds. Zhou Yanxin of Shanghai and Bai Anqi of Zhejiang came to second and third.

Shi Feng of Shanghai took the victory in the men's 100m butterfly, 51.86, ahead of Chen Yin of Hebei and Hu Chao of Jiangxi.

The 15-year-old Li Xuanxu of Hunan was unhappy though she claimed title in the women's 800m freestyle in 8:25.88, 1.51 seconds behind of her own national record. Chen Qian and Ren Junnigave Shandong a 2-3 finish in 8:31.63 and 8:34.35.

In the women's 4X100m medley relay, Zhejiang beat Shanghai and Liaoning to take the gold in 4:03.56.

The 8-day national swimming championships is to end on April 12with the last 7 finals on stake.
