Zambia started its campaign for a Under- 19 cricket World Cup slot on a low after losing to Namibia here, Zambia Daily Mail reported on Tuesday.
Namibia batted first and managed 204 runs with six wickets and 50 overs. Despite getting 204 runs in 50 overs, the Namibians failed to pass the target of 205 but they still won the match because their score was better than Zambia's 109 all out and 41 overs, the Daily said.
According to Daily Mail, Zambia lost the match in the first inning when they allowed Namibia to get 204 runs because of complacency by the pace bowlers. In the second inning, it was Zambia's turn to bat the Zambian cricketers failed to match Namibia's scoreline.
At the start of the second inning, Zambia had 35 runs and four wickets in 17 overs.
The tournament served as qualifiers for the World Cup tournament to be held in Kenya in August.
