Germany beat England to win Euro U-21 Championship

Germany overpowered England 4-0 in the Euro Under-21 Championship final to win the trophy on Monday.

England started strongly but it was Germany that grabbed the opening goal when Gonzalo Castro chipped the ball above England keeper Scott Loach in the 23rd minute.

Mesut Ozil, who set up the first goal, then made it 2-0 three minutes into the second half with an stunning free kick from over 30 yards.

Sandro Wagner added two more goals for Germany.
