Hull City down Guo'an in friendly

Beijing Guoan suffered a 6-5 defeat to Premier league side Hull City after the penalty shootout at the Barclays Asia Trophy Beijing 2009 at the Workers' Stadium Wednesday, the two sides were level on 1-1 in regular time.

Hull City will play Tottenham Hotspur in the final on July 31, while Guoan will meet West Ham United on the same day.

In-form striker Geovanni Gomes put the Tigers ahead merely ten minutes into the game, smashing a powerful shot to beat keeper Yang Zhi.

The hosts rallied after the early goal and launched fierce attacks on their rivals. Central back William Paul Modibo levelled the score in the 49 minute with a small angle shot following midfielder Tao Wei's right wing cross.

Guoan playmaker Emil Martinez had a nice shot to be denied by Matthew Duke and the far post on 84 minutes.

In the penalty shootout, Guoan's Sui Dongliang and Zhang Xinxin missed the targets, while the Tigers only missed one.
