Murray eases through first round at U.S. Open

Britain's Andy Murray disposed of his first-round opponent Ernests Gulbis in straight sets 7-5 6-3 7- 5 at the U.S. Open on Tuesday.

The second seed was clinical in overcoming the abundantly talented Latvian, breaking at key points in each set with real efficiency and conviction.

The world number two will now face Paul Capdeville of Chile in the second round.
