Argentinean Ruben Magnano was officially presented as the head coach of the Brazilian men's national basketball team by the Brazilian Confederation of Baskeball on Friday.
Immediately after the presentation, Magnagno headed out to watch the game between Pinheiros and Palmeiras/Araraquara.
In the 11th round of the second season of the New Brazilian Basketball league, Magnano watched Pinheiros defeating Palmeiras/Araraquara 93-84.
Pinheiros was led by Brewer with a game high 23 points, followed by Shamell with 22 points.
For Palmeiras/Araraquara, Neto scored a team-high 21 points, followed by Luisinho with 20 points.
With the victory, Pinheiros remain among the top six and seize a spot in the post-season, while Palmeiras/Araraquara stand in second to last and out of playoff contention.
Magnano has his eye out for the construction of the 2010 Brazilian team that will travel to Turkey to play in the World Championships.
