Germany's Maria Riesch won on Thursday the title in the women's super combined slalom in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Games.

Riesch won the gold medal ahead of Julia Mancuso of the United States, who earned her second silver after the ladies' downhill on Wednesday.

"I knew that I was in a good mood, no comparison to yesterday. I had an inner calm and I knew the course was good for me. I knew if I raced the way I could that I would win a medal." said Riesch.

Riesch, the reigning slalom world champion, finished the downhill in 1 minute 24.49 seconds and the slalom portion in 44.65 seconds for a total time of 2:09.14.

Mancuso totalled 2 minutes 10.08 seconds, 0.94 seconds behind Riesch.

Anja Paerson of Sweden occupied the third place, 1.05 seconds slower than Riesch. This bronze medal is her sixth Olympic medal.

Favorite of the competition, Lindsey Vonn of the United States, winner of the ladies downhill, didn't finish the slalom after a crash.
