China's Chen grabs three more golds at junior's weightlifting worlds

Chinese Chen Xiong dominated the competition in the men's 56kg class in the Junior World Weightlifting Championships here on Monday.

Chen, 18, won all three golds lifting 268kg in total, 120kg in the snatch and 148kg in the clean and jerk competitions.

Columbian Carlos Berna got two silvers in men's 56kg from the overall classification and the clean and jerk, lifting 256kg and 147kg respectively.

Adiel Gil Galban of Cuba got the bronze medals in the overall classification and in the clean and jerk, lifting 255kg and 145kg apiece.

Turkish Ismet Algul came second in the snatch with 116kg, while Nguyen Bach Chinh of Vietnam got the bronze medal in the discipline lifting 112kg.

Earlier on Monday, Chinese Wu Yanmei swept the women's 48kg class. She won all three gold medals lifting 84kg in the snatch, 103kg in the jerk and 187kg in total.

270 junior weightlifters, 170 men and 100 women, are participating in the championships ending on Sunday.
