Top seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark romped past Chan Yung-Jan of Chinese Taipei 6-1, 6-0 on Saturday, setting up a fourth round clash against 14th seeded Maria Sharapova in the U.S. Open.

With gusting winds making play comical at times, Wozniacki was too consistent for her less experienced opponent and wrapped it up in 73 minutes.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the opening two games but from then on it was all Wozniacki as she cruised to the last 16 in lop-sided victory at Flushing Meadows.

The Dane has lost just three games in total on her way through to the fourth round. The top seed will play former champion Sharapova, who blanked 18-year-old American 6-0, 6-0.
