The United States defeated Lithuania 89-74 in Istanbul on Saturyday to proceed to the final of the 2010 men's basketball World Championship.

Saturday's semifinal was dominated by American Kevin Durant, who scored over a third of his teams points, sinking 38 points including 14 free throws.

The United States picked up an early lead, finishing the first quarter 23-12. Slovenia maintained an even game for the rest of the match, not allowing the gap to widen, but wasn't able to catch up to the US.

The first half ended with America ahead 42-27. The United States remained ahead in the third quarter, 65-53, to end the game with a 15 point lead.

Durant was the high-scorer of the game. Lithuania's Robertas Javtokas lead his team with 15 points.

The US will now proceed to the final for the first time since 1994, where they will take on Turkey who overcame Serbia 83-82.
