The formidable presence of US Open Champion, Graeme McDowell, the man who won The Ryder Cup for Europe, will grace the UBS Hong Kong Open from November 18-21.

The Northern Irishman continued his sensational season at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales by winning the vital point that ensured Europe regained The Ryder Cup following a pulsating battle with the USA.

With his captain, team-mates, thousands of on-course spectators, and the millions of fans around the world watching the gut-wrenching conclusion to the match on television, McDowell showed remarkable aplomb as he brought home Team Europe for an unforgettable victory.

McDowell's performance further confirmed his reputation as a man who lives for the big occasion following his US Open victory in June when he held off the challenge of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els at Pebble Beach to become the first Irishman to win the season's second Major.

Now he is en route to Fanling to join his Ryder Cup partner, Rory McIlroy, at the 2010 UBS Hong Kong Open as he seeks to set-up a photo finish with Martin Kaymer in The European Tour's Race to Dubai. The UBS Hong Kong Open is jointly sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.

"I'm really looking forward to playing in the UBS Hong Kong Open," said McDowell. "After the emotion of The Ryder Cup it will be great to get back to business and win vital points in the penultimate event on The Race to Dubai.

"I have enjoyed the best season of my career this year. The US Open win and then what happened in The Ryder Cup have been the two greatest moments in my professional life and winning the UBS Hong Kong Open would be the icing on the cake.

"Hong Kong is a very cool city and UBS is renowned on Tour for putting on a great show at Fanling. It is my kind of town – there is a real buzz to the city and I know that all of the players love coming back to Hong Kong as they are guaranteed a great week."

"UBS is delighted to confirm that Ryder Cup hero, Graeme McDowell, will be part of the all-star field at the UBS Hong Kong Open 2010. Together with Rory McIlroy we now have two leading lights of The Ryder Cup. I am confident that the galleries will be delighted to see these two go head-to-head in Hong Kong," said Kathryn Shih, CEO, UBS Wealth Management, Asia Pacific.
