Corinthians star Ronaldo returned to the spotlight on Thursday to announce his participation in the remainder of the 2010 Brazilian Championship.

He also promised to try to convince Carlos Alberto Parreira to accept the job as head coach of the team.

Ronaldo claimed that he will play in each of the remaining nine games of this year's tournament. He added that the team has let multiple opportunities slip through their fingers of controlling the leadership of Brazilian Championship.

Although praising interim head coach Fabio Carille, Ronaldo intends on luring head coach Carlos Alberto Parreira to fill the void left by Adilson Batista, who left the team after a 4-3 loss to Atletico-MG on October 10.

Corinthians remains in third place with 49 points. They trail second placed Fluminense with 52 points and first placed Cruzeiro with 54 points.

Parreira previously announced that he only intends on entering into negotiations with Corinthians in December for a possible job in 2011. However, Ronaldo, having been coached by Parreira on the national team in 1994 and 2006, believes that he can persuade the coach to coming to Corinthians early in order to win the Brazilian Championship.

With only nine rounds of the 2010 Brazilian Championship remaining, Ronaldo and Corinthians will have to act fast in order to sign a new head coach and finish this year's tournament strong.
