U.S. golfer Tiger Woods said Friday he is excited to return to Melbourne of Australia, after experiencing an electric atmosphere at last year's Australian Masters.

Australian Masters is an annual golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia.

"Oh man, it was a great atmosphere last year, absolutely incredible," Woods told Australia Associated Press on Friday, referring to his triumphant visit to Kingston Heath of Melbourne nearly 12 months ago.

"Stevie (caddie Steve Williams) and I were talking this week about how electric it was. We're excited to get back down."

On his forthcoming trip to Australia, Woods has never been to Victoria Golf Club, where he will defend his title in Australian Masters next week.

"I've heard nothing but good things about it, just as I heard nothing but good things about the Heath," he said. "I'm looking forward to taking a look at it and trying to come up with a game plan to get myself around."

This year's Australian Masters, which held from Nov. 11-14 at The Victoria Golf Club of Melbourne, will be competed by a numbers of world ranking golfers, including the defending champion joining international stars Sergio Garcia (Spain) and Camilo Villegas (Colombia) along with the 2006 U.S. Open Champion, Geoff Ogilvy.

Last year's Australian Masters set a new benchmark for Australian golf with record crowds and television audiences and delivered in excess of 34 million U.S. dollars to the Victorian economy.
