Steve Francis showed up on Wednesday for 23 seconds in his new team Beijing Ducks' 116-107 win over Qingdao Doublestar at the Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) in Beijing.

The former Houston Rockets guard arrived on Tuesday morning and joined the Ducks' teammates in the pre-game shoot-around. Reports said Francis caught a cold and wanted to take more days to rest.

His teammates got enough excitement as the former NBA All-Star guard watched on the bench. Randolph Morris had 40 points and 11 rebounds while Zaid Abbas added 36 points and 17 rebounds with five Beijing's players scoring double-digit numbers.

The Doublestar never produce real challeng to the home team though Charles Gaines had the game-high 43 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.

Jordanese Osama Daglas' jumper with 19 seconds to go put the Shanxi Zhongyu ahead for good as they beat Tianjin Ronggang 98-97 on the road.

The home team led 96-93 in the last minute when the Zhongyu capitalized the next possessions to hold back the surge-up of Tianjin.

Guard Zhao Anan had 25 points and Daglas added 20 for Zhongyu, which played their first match in the new season after having a bye in the first round on Sunday.

In Wednesday's other matches, Jiangsu Dragons beat Foshan 100-79, Dongguan Marco Polo beat Shanghai Sharks 113-97, Guangdong Hongyuan beat Jilin Northeast Tigers 92-82, Liaoning Hunters beat Shandong Gold 110-104, Zhejiang Cyclones beat Fujian SBS 93-87, and Zhejiang Guangsha beat Bayi Fubang 107-104.
