French team captain Patrice Evra dismissed the rumours and said that everything was well in the French camp following the disappointing goalless draw with Uruguay.

Evra has been handed the captaincy for the World Cup finals after Thierry Henry's move to the bench. That decision by coach Raymond Domenech sparked talk of disunity in the camp.

"That's bull. That's not true." Evra dismissed the rumours.

"The mood is good. William Gallas is a professional and he wants to play at the World Cup. Everything is okay. I Guarantee the atmosphere is very good. It's not a problem."

France will take on Mexico in their second Group A match. "Against Mexico we need to win now," said Evra. "And then we'll see after that against South Africa."
