Former NBA player Stephon Marbury enjoyed the cheers by his Chinese fans after helping Foshan gain an 86-74 win against Beijing in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.

Marbury's Foshan had nothing to lose after conceding five straight games since the start of the month. But they had to grapple with their formidable opponents, who were eager to take a spot in the playoffs.

Marbury encountered his former NBA teammate Randolph Morris, who played with him side by side from 2006-2008 in New York Knicks, and won the close battle against Morris by the score of 32-29.

"I like the people here in China," Marbury said in his Blog.

"I will stay at CBA," he added.

The two-time NBA All-Star player came to China to play for Shanxi in the CBA league in January 2010. He left for Foshan in December 2010.
