Indonesia's East Java province is scheduled to resume the annual international cycling championship called "Tour de East Java" from September 23 to 25 this year with teams from 11 countries already registered to take part in it, local media reported in Jakarta on Saturday.
Teams that already registered their participation in the cycling championship among others came from the Netherlands, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Iran.
They will compete with Indonesian teams prepared to vie in regional sport event SEA Games (SEAG) scheduled for November in the capital city of Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra.
Head of the championship's organizing committee Harijanto Tjondrokusumo said that the defending champion, Iranian team Tabriz petrochemical, had already registered itself in the championship.
"We invited four national teams and four continental teams from each country to take part on the championship," Harijanto was quoted by the tempointeraktif as saying.
The annual Tour de Java cycling championship would start and finish in city of Tulungagung, East Java, over a 180 kilometers route divided into three phases.
