The body said the players, Jung Kyung-eun, Kim Ha-na, Ha Jung-eun and Kim Min-jung, have contested a two-year suspension proposed by the association's disciplinary committee.

The four were among the eight female badminton players who were disqualified from the Olympics for trying to lose matches. The other two pairs included China's top-seeded pair, Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang and Indonesia's Greysia Polii and Meiliana Jauhari.

The Badminton World Federation found them throwing their matches by deliberately hitting shots into the net and faulting their serves in an effort to get an easier draw in the next round. The four pairs of players, who angered the watching crowds, were charged with demeaning the sport and the spirit of the Olympics.

The committee plans to make its final decision on Wednesday.
