London officials have unveiled the athletes' village for the 2012 Olympic Games. International athletes will stay in apartments that include such luxuries as extendable beds for taller athletes and colorful sports-themed duvets.

Chair of LOCOG's (London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games) Athletes Committee Jonathan Edwards sits in a completed apartment bedroom, in the athletes village, at the Olympic Park, in Stratford, east London, Thursday March 15, 2012.

More than 16-thousand beds, and 11,000 sofas have been fitted in the village where up to 17,000 athletes and team officials will eat and sleep during the Olympic and Paralympic games. Just under 3,000 of the apartments will be shared by two athletes.

After the games, the apartments will be sold to private buyers.
