Lizzie Armitstead won Team GB's first medal of the 2012 Olympic Games in the women's road race, behind Marianne Vos.

Lizzie Armitstead won Team GB's first medal of the 2012 Olympic Games in the women's road race, behind Marianne Vos.

Host Britain won its first medal at the London Games as Armitstead Elizabeth finished second to Dutchwoman Marianne Vos in the Olympic road cycling race on Sunday.

Vos completed the 140-kilometer race in 3 hours, 35 minutes 29 seconds.

Olga Zabelinskaya from Russia had the bronze from the race in which 66 cyclists competed.
