China's Sun Yang has won the men's fifteen-hundred meter freestyle in spectacular fashion. He broke his own world record, finishing in 14 minutes 31 point zero two.

After breaking the world record to win 1,500m freestyle at London Olypmics, China's emerging standout Sun Yang said he has fulfilled all his goals in London.

Sun Yang was the top qualifier for the men's 15-hundred meter final and a red-hot favorite. He won the gold at last year's World Championships where he broke Grant Hackett's 10-year-old world record. Canada's Ryan Cochrane, who won bronze in Beijing, did one better this time. He pipped Tunisia's Oussama Mellouli to claim silver. But this race was all about Sun Yang as the others finished about eight seconds behind him.
