Chinese badminton head coach, Li Yongbo, has accused Danish referee, Torsten Berg, of causing injury to badminton player Wang Xin.

In the women's singles bronze medal match against Indian Saina Nehwal on Saturday, it's reported that Wang Xin asked the referee several times to wipe the sweat from the court floor, but was refused.

China's Wang Xin has dropped out of the bronze medal match in the women's single badminton, sending India's Nehwal Saina onto the bronze podium.

Wang Xin slipped and injured herself during the course of the match. The second-seeded Chinese player had to withdraw from the competition after winning a game already.

Wang Xin has been sent to hospital to undergo an NMR scan. The team's doctor says she's in a lot of pain with suspected ligament damage.
