China's women race walk team led by Liu Hong is favored to snatch a medal in women's 20km event that will kick off on Saturday at London Olympic games.

"Liu's current form is great, and what she should do is to focus on competition and overcome all possible disturbance during the race,"Liu's former head coach Zou Guilin said in Nanchang on Friday.

"Liu Hong has a very good chance to win the gold medal with her solid basic skills and good moving techniques."Zou said, adding that maintaining a steady mentality is of great importance to her.

Liu, 25, born in east China's Jiangxi province, was the silver medal winner in the 2011 athletics world championships.
