Two ex-NBA stars Tracy McGrady and Stephon Marbury met in the 24th round of Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league as McGrady's Qingdao Eagles won over defending champion Beijing Ducks in extra time 104-101 on Friday.

Mcgrady registered 15 points and 17 rebounds, and Chris Daniels, an ex-NBDL player, notched a team-high 30 points. Marbury got a game-high 31 points and eight rebounds.

"We did a good job today and overcame many difficulties, like injuries and playing an away game," said Beijing coach Min Lulei.

"Beijing is a powerful team and I told our players before the game to learn from them," said Qingdao coach Zhang Shizhang.

"My players played very hard and deserved the win."

Marbury led the visiting team to a 16-6 advantage six minutes into action. Chris Daniels then replaced McGrady to catch up with Qingdao in the second quarter.

With tight defense and three-pointers from Li Guang and Zhao Yonggang, the home team overturned Beijing and led by 13 points when the first half ended.

Powered by Marbury, Beijing narrowed the gap to five points before the final 12-minute fight.

Beijing managed to tie the game before the final second. Daniels scored seven points in a row in extra time to nail Qingdao's victory.
