Mark Allen edges out Ryan Day in Haikou Open

Defending Champion Mark Allen scored a 5-2 win over Ryan Day on the second day of Snooker Haikou World Open 2013 carrying out in China.

Allen, the defending champin of this tournament, looking forward to advance to next round was challenged by Ryan Day in the first round.

In the first two frames, Day played well and get a leg up in against his opponent Allen who did not get himself quickly enough.

But the next five frames became a one-man show by Mark Allen. After getting back into the match in the third and forth frames, Allen won three frames in a row and came back to win 5-2 against Day.

In another match, the last Chinese rookie Zhao Xintong in the wild card round win the match 5-1 against Andrew Higginson who ranks 25th in the world. And Shaun Murphy sent Martin Gould home with a 5-4 win.
