Sailboat Yapai and Sanya won the first place within its group in the 2013 Tour of West Hainan International Regatta ending on Tuesday.

After sailing from Sanya, South China's resort city to Haikou, capital city of South China's Hainan Province for over 30 hours since starting last Sunday, Yapai got to Haikou first, receiving a lot of applauses.

Sailboat Yapai, which participated in the previous three years of Hainan Regatta, was the champion of 2011 and 2012 Tour of Hainan International Regatta.

"We try to make a good wind direction in the race with nearly no mistakes, thus to win the first place," said Zhang Haipeng, captain of sailboat Yapai.

The Haikou leg will be continued as part of 2013 Tour of Hainan Regatta on Wednesday.
