Despite leading Chinese Super League (CSL) club Shanghai Shenhua to a third-place finish in his first season with the young side, former Croatia coach Miroslav Blazevic could not work his magic on China's Olympic squad after taking charge of the team in November 2010. He resigned from his position in June 2011 after failing to qualify for the London Olympic Games.
