Italy wins women's team foil, Russia men's saber

Italy took gold in the women's team foil, while Russia won in the men's team saber on Saturday, the first day of team competition at the 2013 World Fencing Championships in Budapest.

In the women's team foil, Italy beat France 45-18 in the final with Russia on third after beating South Korea 45-38.

In the men's team saber, Russia beat Romania 45-38 for the gold while South Korea defeated Belarus for the bronze medal, 45- 31.

Italy's Arianna Errigo won the second gold as she triumphed in the individual foil. Russia's Veniamin Reshetnikov also takes home two gold medals with his victory in the individual saber.

The World Championships continue on Sunday with the women's and men's team epee contests.
