World No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods on Tuesday hit balls from East to West on Istanbul's Bosphorus that connects Europe and Asia.

Woods arrived in Istanbul's Asian side by helicopter on the sidelines of the "Turkish Airlines Open Golf Tournament" and took part in a spectacular bridge photoshot.

The Bosphorus Bridge that crosses the Istanbul strait closed for an hour as Tiger Woods hit balls from the bridge as part of the opening of the Turkish Airlines Open 2013 golf tournament.

All drivers heading to the Bosporus Bridge were directed to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge during the show. The event was expected to worsen the already congested traffic of Istanbul, while offering an unexpected golf show.

Tiger Woods will travel to the Turkish soutwestern city of Antalya to take on Europe's finest in the 7 million US dollars tournament at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal course.

Woods had also played last year's World Golf Final in Turkey but this season marks the first time the country has hosted an official European Tour event.
