International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach said on Wednesday that the drug-testing program for next year's Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, will be the "most stringent" in the history of the Winter Games.
A total of 1,269 pre-competition tests -- over 400 more than the Vancouver games -- will be conducted during the Feb. 7-23 Games, while total tests will increase by almost 300 to 2,453, according to Bach.
"With a record number of samples and pre-competition tests, we shall be smarter and tougher in our fight against doping," Bach told delegates at the World Conference on Doping in Sport.
