Pep Guardiola's side cruised to a hammering 7-0 victory at Bremen whilst Leverkusen defended their second place by courtesy of Heung Min Son's winner to inflict Dortmund the fourth loss of the season, in the 15th round of German Bundesliga on Saturday.

Front-runner Bayern Munich staged a 7-0 goal festival at Bremen to reap the 13th victory. In addition they remained unbeaten at their 40th consecutive Bundesliga clash. Meanwhile, Bremen recorded their highest Bundesliga defeat.

The German record champions needed 21 minutes to break the deadlock as Assani Lukimya's own goal cleared the way for Bayern's victory. The Bremen defender deflected Franck Ribery's square pass into the box into his own goal.

Just seven minutes later, Daniel van Buyten doubled the lead following a dead ball situation to shock the Green-Whites on home soil. The hosts tried to respond but neither Nils Peterson nor Aaron Hunt were able to make use of their chances. Meanwhile, clinical Bayern made it three with their third chance as unmarked Ribery finished a combination via Thomas Mueller at the back post seven minutes before the break.

Relentless Bavarians started where they left off as Ribery teed up for Mario Mandzukic who added his name to the score sheets at the 60th minute. Mueller extended the lead to 5-0 when he volleyed home Mario Goetze's chip inside the box. Frenchman Ribery wasn't done with the scoring when he added the sixth goal, to sew up his brace, before Goetze scored the final 7-0 score, rounding off the goal spree on the road. Thus, Bayern cement their top position with 41 points while Bremen drop on 14th position.

Juergen Klopp's men lost the struggle for the second place as Leverkusen sealed a decisive 1-0 win on the road. It was a rough game with many fouls therefor both sides had to finish the encounter with ten men.

Leverkusen had to thank Heung Min Son, whose score smoothed the 12th victory of the campaign at the 18th minute. Dortmund tried to pull back but Leverkusen's bulwark remained insuperable for 90 minutes.

However, Emir Spahic violent conduct reduced Leverkusen to 10-men at the 81st minute yet Dortmund were unable to profit from their advantage. Just before the end of the match Dortmund defender Sokratis saw his second yellow card to restore parity on the pitch. The "Werkself" sit on second place with 37 points followed by the "BVB" on third position with 31 points. ' Monchengladbach came from behind to tighten their fourth place with a 2-1 win over 10-men Schalke. Moreover, they earned their eighth win in as many matches on home soil.

The "Royal Blues" caught a perfect start as Jefferson Farfan opened the scoring after a foul play penalty to Kevin Prince Boateng at the 17th minute. The Peruvian international stepped up and converted into the top left corner.

It was a short-lived joy by the "Knappen" as Monchengladbach fought back with a hammering long-range effort by Raffael, who extended his goal tally to eight.

Things changed from bad to worse for Schalke when captain Beneditkt Hoewedes booked his second yellow card following a handball inside the box, allowing the "Foals" to turn the tides, as Kruse slotted home the 2-1 decider from the spot just before the break. Schalke sit on fifth place but suffered their fifth loss whereas fourth placed Monchengladbach closed the gap to Dortmund with 31 points.

Elsewhere, Hannover lost their seventh match in a row on the road as Stuttgart wrapped up a 4-2 triumph to snatch three points.

Sven Schipplock and Roberto Firmino ensured Hoffenheim's 2-1 win at Frankfurt and Raul Bobadilla's winner secured Augsburg a 1-0 win over Hamburg.

The following matches are scheduled for Sunday: Freiburg see Wolfsburg and bottom side Braunschweig face Berlin.
