The Chinese Football Association showed the door to head national soccer coach Jose Antonio Camacho following an embarrassing 1-5 defeat to Thailand in a friendly.

Camacho took over from Gao Hongbo in August 2011, signing a three-year contract for a reported annual salary of US$8 million.

Under the 58-year-old Spaniard's reign, China slipped to its lowest FIFA rankings, slumping to 109th in the world in March this year.
