The Lakers announced Thursday that Kobe Bryant will miss six weeks after suffering a fractured lateral tibial plateau in his left knee.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant will rest for about six weeks to heal an injured left knee, the NBA franchise said on Thursday.

An MRI showed Bryant has a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau of his knee, the team said.

Bryant had only returned to the court on Dec. 8 after nearly eight months away because of a torn Achilles tendon.
