Will Seedorf be the next big name to land in China?

The guessing game about which famous football star will be the next to land in China gained momentum as more big names were linked to Chinese soccer.

According to reports from Goalchina, the Chinese Super League (CSL) side Beijing Guoan have made Clarence Seedorf their top target in the transfer market.

Guoan have made no secret of adding a world-class player to replace Frederic Kanoute, who retired after the 2013 season.

Seedorf is currently under contract with Botafogo in the Brasileirao Serie A. The 37-year-old has maintained a good form, recording 15 goals in more than 50 starts in the 2012-13 season.

The former Dutch playmaker was linked with a move to Guoan a year ago when a picture of him standing in front of the club spread quickly on internet and led to a round of guesswork as to whether he would join the 2009 CSL champions.

However, sources close to Guoan said that the former AC Milan and Real Madrid player only came here for a youth program.
