The 2007 women's singles world champion Guo Yue has been dropped out from China's national table tennis team, head coach confirmed here on Friday.

"After the London Olympic Games, Guo has missed a serie of important demestic tournaments. Her performance both in and off the court suggests she is not qualified to go on playing for the national team in the 2016 Olympics. So she is provisionally left out from the team roster," said Liu Guoliang, who was leading the team to build-up for the qualification events for 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

"But the door of the national team has not been completely closed for her," said Liu, also a former world champion and Olympic gold winner.

"If she can find her form back and change her attitude, she is likely to be included into the team again," Liu added.

The 25-year-old Guo joined the all-conquering national team in 2000 and claimed the women's team world title in 2004 to become the youngest table tennis world champ in China.

In 2007 she grabbed the women's singles world title after rallying to beat teammate Li Xiaoxia 4-3 in the final. She was also a member of the team that won gold medals in 2008 and 2012 Olympics Games.

The internal qualification events for 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships will kick off on Saturday in Zhenjiang in Eastern China's Jiangsu Province.
