Shandong Luneng held by Buriram United in ACL opener.

Adisak Kraisorn's injury-time strike secured a 1-1 draw for Buriram United against ambitious Chinese team Shandong Luneng on the opening night of the AFC Champions League.

An 83rd minute strike from Shandong substitute Liu Bin Bin looked to have handed the 2005 quarter-finalists the ideal start to the campaign on their return to the tournament for the first time since 2011 after Brazilian Aloisio had missed a second half penalty for the home side.

But two minutes into stoppage time, second-half substitute Adisak capitalised on some sloppy defending from a long-range free-kick to snatch the precious equaliser.

Tuesday's other Group E game also ended 1-1 when Pohang Steelers came from behind to earn a point against Cerezo Osaka.

Elsewhere, Sanfrecce Hiroshima salvaged a 1-1 draw at home with Beijing Guoan in Group F opener.

The J.League champions had Kazuhiko Chiba to thank for a 78th minute volley which cancelled out Ha Dae-sung's 63rd minute opener for Beijing.

Yesterday's other Group F game saw FC Seoul shrugged off the departure of two key players from their run to last year's final as they dominated Central Coast Mariners for a 2-0 win at home.
