Beijing grab another victory in game 2 of CBA finals

Randolph Morris shone in the second quarter and overtime with 31 points and 17 rebounds to steer Beijing Ducks to a 90-86 win over Xinjiang Guanghui in Game 2 of the Chinese Association league (CBA) finals on Friday.

Li Gen starts the game with a layup, but Xinjiang scored 8 straight points in the paint, and then 3 more layups after Li Gen hit another shot, making it 14-4 with 7 minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Beijing began to find the rhythm as they cut the deficit down to only 1 point thanks to former NBA player Stephon Marbury' s shot and the following free throw. Two points of Li Gen helped Beijing to take the lead again and expand it to 23-19 at the end of the quarter.

Morris stood out with 12 points to steer Beijing keep a 2-digit advantage in the second quarter while Sun Yue and Ji Zhe each contributed a dunk as Beijing led by 44-33 when the first half ended.

After the break, Xinjiang began to play a strong comeback that started with Shirelijan' s 5 points. James Singleton then scored 8 straight points to cut the deficit down to only 5 points. A reverse layup from Yang Jingmin made it an even game again, 55-55.

Marbury responded with a sudden 3-pointer, Morris added 6 points including a fast-break dunk to lift Beijing 64-55, Singleton scored 2 more points for Xinjiang with an alley-oop.

Xinjiang started the fourth quarter with a 7-0 streak. Both teams then were dragged into a head-to-head battle and traded advantage later. Marbury' s layup made the game 81-81 with 14.6 seconds to go. Hudson missed the game winning shot, so did Marbury, his 3-pointer attempt was rejected by the rim, sending the game to overtime.

Morris again showed dominance, scoring 7 of Beijing' s 9 points in this period to lead Beijing rallied Xinjiang 9-5 in the overtime, grabbing a 90-86 victory for Beijing.

Stephon Marbury grabbed 16 points, 4 assists and 4 steals for Beijing. Shirelijan contributes a team-high 18 points for Xinjiang with Singleton added a double-double, 14 points and 11 rebounds.

With winning the first game 95-75 on Wensesday, Beijing is now only 2 victories away from their second Championship, in the league' s 19-year history, there has been no team could overcome a 0-2 deficit in the finals so far.
