World record holder Wilson Kipsang won his second London Marathon with a course record on Sunday.

The Kenyan, winner of the race in 2012, clocked 2:04:29 for the title, followed by compatriot Stanley Biwott in 2:04:55.

Ethiopia's Tsegaye kebede finished third in 2:06:30.

Kipsang, who set the world record of 2:03:23 in last year's Berlin Marathon, beat the previous course mark of 2:04.40 set by fellow Kenyan Emmanuel Mutai in 2011.

Mo Farah, who won the men's 5,000 and 10,000 meters race in the London Olympics, finished eighth on London Marathon debut.

Farah, 31, failed to break Steve Jones's 29-year-old British record of 2:07.13 and finished in 2:08:21.

Edna Kiplagat beat fellow Kenyan Florence Kiplagat to win the women's race, with Olympic 10,000m champion Tirunesh Dibaba third on her debut.
