Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo tops the timesheet ahead of Felipe Massa of Williams Saturday in the third practice of F1 Shanghai Grand Prix racing in rain.

The third practice in Shanghai International Circuit was carried out in rain in the morning as drivers were hampered in the race and had the practice cut short in laps.

Ricciardo of Australia clocked the fastest time of 1:53.958 in just five laps. The fastest drivers Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes in the second practice and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari in the first practice both finished no time due to the rain hindrance, and the championship leading driver Nico Rosberg of Mercedes had no better luck.

Alonso tried only one lap with Hamilton and Rosberg taking three and four laps. Lotus' Romain Grosjean claimed the third fastest lap within four laps. The other Red Bull Sebastian Vettel was in 11th place in the third practice, six places down from his second practice session.

The grid race to kick off on 14:00 local time will probably be going on in rain.
