Rodrigo Tabata scored the winner as Qatar's Al Sadd secured a place in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League with 2-1 win over Al Ahli in Group D.

Defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande, a trio of former winners in Al Sadd, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Al Hilal along with J.League sides Cerezo Osaka, Kawasaki Frontale and Sanfrecce Hiroshima, as well as last year's finalists FC Seoul, debutants Western Sydney Wanderers and Bunyodkor all secured qualification to complete the line-up for the last 16 of the AFC Champions League this week.

The 10 teams join last week's qualifiers Al Ain, Al Ittihad, Pohang Steelers, Al Shabab, Al Jazira and Foolad Khouzestan in securing a place in the two-legged Round of 16, which will take place next month.

Guangzhou booked their qualification with a 2-1 victory over Yokohama F. Marinos as Brazilian striker Elkeson netted both goals against the Emperor's Cup holders as Marcello Lippi's side topped Group G ahead of Jeonbuk.

"I'm very satisfied with today's performance. At the moment the team is not in the best shape, we have had problems and a list of injuries," said Lippi following Tuesday's win.

"But I'm happy with this game, and my players fought hard out there. Given the difficult circumstances of playing two games in three days, I have to praise my team for winning the game."

Jeonbuk secured second place and a meeting with fellow K-League Classic side Pohang Steelers after the 2006 champions shared a goalless draw with Australia's Melbourne Victory.

Group E winners Pohang had already secured qualification before Wednesday's goalless draw with Buriram United, who saw their hopes ended as Cerezo beat Shandong Luneng 2-1 in China to claim second place.

Al Sadd, who began the final Matchday bottom of Group D, were indebted to a strike from Rodrigo Tabata 11 minutes from time which handed the 2011 champions a 2-1 win over Al Ahli and secured them a meeting with Khouzestan of Iran.

"The players gave a great performance and they showed big determination to win the match and they held on to the chance to qualify for the knockout stage," said Al Sadd coach Hussein Amotta after Al Sadd's comeback win over Al Ahli.

The Qatari side finished runners-up behind two-time Asian champions Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, who edged out Iran's Sepahan 1-0 to cement their own spot in the knockout stage against Uzbekistan's Bunyodkor.

With Khouzestan having already claimed the top spot in Group B, all eyes were on Doha where Sardor Rashidov scored a dramatic winner deep into stoppage time as Bunyodkor defeated El Jaish 2-1 to snatch the last remaining place in the Round of 16.

Khouzestan, meanwhile, demolished Al Fateh 5-1 with a first half hat-trick by Brazilian Chimba.

In the East, Western Sydney claimed pole position in Group H and a meeting with J.League champions Hiroshima in emphatic style with a crushing 5-0 victory of China's Guizhou Renhe.

Second spot in the group, meanwhile, was decided by a winner-take-all clash in Japan as Kawasaki booked their place in the last 16 for the first time since 2009 with a 3-1 victory over Ulsan Hyundai to eliminate the 2012 champions and book a tie with 2013 runners-up FC Seoul.

Winners of Group F, thanks to a 2-1 win over Beijing Gluon, FC Seoul were joined in the knockout stages by Hiroshima after Hajime Moriyasu's side qualified for the last 16 for the first time following a 1-0 win over Australia's Central Coast in Japan.

Elsewhere, Al Shabab will face fellow Saudi side Al Ittihad in the Round of 16 after they confirmed top spot in Group A with a 2-1 win over Al Jazira on Wednesday.

Esteghlal, meanwhile, claimed third place with a 3-1 victory over Al Rayyan in Tehran.

Finally on Tuesday, Al Ain secured top spot in Group C following a 1-1 draw with runners-up and fellow former winners Al Ittihad, while Lekhwiya claimed third place with a 1-0 victory over Tractorsazi Tabriz.

These results mean there will be an all-Emirati affair in the Round of 16 as Zlatko Dalic's Al Ain will face Group A runner-up Al Jazira.
